Harshada on Sabbatical

In early March, Harshada and Dr. Anu went to Auckland, New Zealand for an extended holiday/retreat/sabbatical. New Zealand is Dr. Anu's home and a speacial place to them both. They are staying in a rain forrest area near the West Coast of the North Island. Harshada is working on a writing project (see the Article of the Month for an excerpt) and enjoying the wild untamed natural surroundings. You'll see a picture below of the view from Harshada's retreat house. He will be back to New York in late April. ITUNES will soon be hosting the Living Meditation Podcast- a free weekly podcast with Harshada including a discussion on meditation principles and a guided meditation session. Stay tuned for that!

On our Way to Summer!

When Harshada Returns, he'll be hitting the ground running doing Private Lessons, Retreats, and a series of intimate Living Room Sessions. The Living Room sessions are small group meditation gatherings hosted by Banyan clients in their homes. They will be happening throughout New York, New Jersy, and Connecticut. If you are intersted in hosting a session in your home, please email us and let us know. The Living Room sessions provide a great opportunity to introduce friends and family to the practice of meditation.

Banyan Goes to India!

Over the New Years Holiday, a small group of Banyan Meditation Students travelled with David Harshada Wagner to India.

We visited Mumbai, Nasik, Trymbakeshwar, Gangapur, Alandi, and Pune. It was an amazing time. We meditated in ancient Cave Temples, participated in a traditional Vedic fire ceremony and had and AMAZING expansive time. Later this year we will be going again. Email us to find out more information.

Vets still a priority for Banyan

For many months we have been looking for ways to support veterans and military personnel currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

If you have any connections in the US Department of Defense or if you are aware of potential donors to fund this work, let us know. We are also looking for Liscensed Massage Therapists to help with this project.

Other Great CDS

Tamboura CD
Tibetan Singing Bowl CD

This is old news to many of you but new news to others....Last year we joined forces with Inner Splendor Media to create three Audio CDs to support your meditation practice. We call the CDs Music for Deep Meditation. Sometimes it is helpful to have a constant, resonant sound in your meditation environment. For this purpose we recorded the Tamboura CD. The tamboura is an Indian stringed instrument known for its hypnotic drone. The Tamboura CD is the sound of one tamboura droning for over an hour. Many of you that have studied with Harshada have experienced the power of the Tibetan Singing Bowl. Our Tibetan Singing Bowl CD features two 30 minute meditation tracks. The first is the sound of a low antique bowl gonging at regular intervals. The second track features sporadic gonging and the constant humming sound the bowl being played in the traditional manner. For meditation- there is nothing like it!

Om CD

Our other CD is bound to be huge hit in the yoga world. Our Chanting Om CD captures the sound of an ensemble of meditators and yoga practitioners singing Om. Om or Aum is a primordial syllable known for its centering and expansive power. This CD also has two tracks: one track with the ensemble “OmIng” together in a 35 minute river of sound. The second track captures the ensemble improvising adding harmonies creating a melodic poetic quality. You hear samples and purchase the Cd's from Inner Splendor's new ecommerce site Apsari.com. We hope you enjoy the recordings. (And buy many of them!) You can also get the recordings on Music for Deep Meditation
